With the aim of enriching lives with product made from New Zealand beef and lamb, and connecting producers with global market opportunities, ANZCO is challenging the boundaries as part of its journey of transformation.THE OPPORTUNITYThis role is based at ANZCO's Waitara manufacturing plant. The site runs two plants onsite, Gourmet Foods and Prepared Foods. Prepared Foods (APF) focuses on products such as patties for McDonald's. Gourmet Foods (AGF) focuses on products such as Low and High-Risk departments producing raw minced and diced products along with fully cooked products (RTE) Jerky, Shanks and Ribs.In this role you will have full responsibility for both the Gourmet Foods and Prepared Foods plants to manufacture products that meet the required customer specifications in quality, time and safety.This involves:Creating a culture of performance, continuous improvement, and lean management to improve the productivity of the two manufacturing facilities.Managing procurement, planning, scheduling, production and distribution of product.Ensuring compliance systems are adhered to for both low-risk and high-risk products and improving performance and systems to reduce risk.Managing and controlling costs to maintain within budgets.Influencing and implementing change throughout the entire business to achieve best practice by achieving lean manufacturing practices.Setting target points and monitoring yields, wastage and material uses and ensuring that the plant meets budget requirements.You will report directly to the Site Manager and will have 6 direct reports and approximately 180 indirect reports.YOUR EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTESTo be successful in this role ideally you will have several of the following attributes:Proven capability to step into a production management role, preferably within the food industry.Proven people leadership experience, able to demonstrate continuous improvement thinking in a processing environment.Strong knowledge of managing an effective and profitable production process.Can demonstrate leadership experience applying lean thinking, quality systems, health & safety, and effective people management and development.For a confidential discussion or to acquire the position description, please contact Richard Foster on 03 379 7002 or 021 85 45 45.
