About this opportunity
The Production Manager will lead the Extrusion Manufacturing function at the Wellington facility. This includes providing leadership and direction to the Extrusion Operations Team, ensuring the efficient management of resources in line with market demand, and striving to create a world-class manufacturing environment focused on Safety, Delivery, Quality, and Cost.
Your key responsibilities will be to:

Achieve zero LTIs and 100% compliance with safety policies, while driving process efficiency with a target OEE score of 85% or higher and optimizing product specifications to ensure zero defects.
Lead Continuous Improvement projects, reducing production waste and downtime by 5%, and implementing 5S methodology.
Ensure adherence to FSSC22000 and HACCP standards, conduct ISO audits with no major non-conformances, and achieve a 95% quality target compliance.
Develop a comprehensive training program, maintain low staff turnover, and foster strong stakeholder relationships to align production goals.
Ensure proactive equipment maintenance for a 10% reduction in downtime.

Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you'll have:

5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment (food or plastics industry)
Production management experience leading a team of 20 to 25.
Experienced using production aspects of MRP systems.
Operations management experience.
SAP knowledge and experience.
The ability to learn new computer systems i.e. SAP, Esker.
A sound understanding of and ability to operate effectively in Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
