The OpportunityIn this Production Manager (2IC) role, you'll work in a collaborative team, where the Farm Manager encourages everyone to bring their ideas to the table.
This is a true leadership role where you'll bring your honest approach, strong work ethic, friendly nature, and farm operations expertise to this high-performing property.
ResponsibilitiesThe role requires anything from planning work, pasture management, farm maintenance, and feeding out. You'll confidently delegate work and keep the farm running effectively and efficiently.
You'll be developing the capability in the team, leading by example. Your ability to manage the farm system, animal health/feeding, milking, pasture management, and operating machinery is an important aspect of the role.
With the support of the Farm Manager, you'll help to identify areas where process improvements can be made, and you'll also receive coaching and development so that you're able to run the farm when the manager is on leave.
The opportunity with this role is not only to learn from the Farm Manager but also from the wider Pamu team which surrounds this business.
The FarmRuapehu Dairy is a 262-ha organic property that milks 580 cows through a 60-bail rotary. One of seven neighbouring farms within Moutoa Dairy Complex in Foxton.
You can't beat the location either, being 5 mins from Foxton, 10 minutes from Levin, or 25 minutes to Palmerston North. It's close to the Manawatu River and has fabulous access to recreational activities.
