Add expected salary to your profile for insightsGooses Screen Design, one of New Zealand's leading Screen Printing businesses, is looking for an experienced Production Artist for our busy centrally-located Christchurch office.We are seeking a creative, computer savvy Graphic Designer who has the ability to produce artwork and film within tight deadlines, having the ability to manage themselves and work in a team.We are after a Production Artist who can catch the typos everyone misses, along with being concerned with resolutions, colour and size accuracies.
You will understand the importance of production values and timeframes.
Knowing the difference between CMYK and RGB, spot colour and process, a vector or a raster are prerequisites - but there's much more.An ideal candidate would have 2-3 years of industry experience in Graphic Design.Responsibilities:Taking customer artwork and preparing print-ready filesCreate artwork specifications for customer approvalLayout art/type and print separationsEnsuring artwork is workable with our production team, work closely with printers to make the jobs easy to work with and correctHave an understanding of spot-colour screen printing, production, and apparel, as well as types of inks and application processes to get various looks in screen printed apparel to appeal to all types of customer needsKnow various methods of Heat press art application to certain garments, as well as Direct to Garment, and know when this is the preferred method of decorationCommunication within the team to ensure all artwork is supplied correctly and on time - you are the conduit between the sales and production teamsRequirements:Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or related fieldStrong proficiency in Adobe Suite, & Microsoft suiteHave high attention to detail and strong organisational skillsWilling to learn and ask questionsBe able to consistently meet deadlines in a high-paced environmentThis is a permanent role of 35 hours per week.
