ABOUT THE ROLE We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Factory Support Engineer to join the team on a 12 month fixed term contract. Based in Auckland, the key focus of the role is to design efficient and lean solutions for production improvement and new product integration, additionally you will provide training to manufacturing maintenance and operations teams. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Lean Manufacturing, Quality & other Improvements Health, Safety and Environment Process Shop floor problem solving and new process introduction To respond and perform all assigned improvement and quality actions Maintain and improve company quality systems (SA documents, Job Breakdown Guides, Internal Auditing etc) Continue to develop & improve the factory manufacturing systems, processes & procedures. Support of birthing of new products, including BOM confirmation, material marshalling & production/process set-up in accordance with product group leaders Development and documentation of best practice guidelines for manufacturing excellence Lead data capture & collection initiatives for advanced root cause analysis methods including Lean Six Sigma and Process Capability studies. Manage Kanban system, lead and implement improvements where required ABOUT YOU The ideal candidate will be results-oriented with attention to detail. You will be a team player who proudly boasts innovation and change. Further, you will: Have experience in Production Engineer or Trade Certified with relevant experience. Expertise in Root Cause Corrective Action Methodologies and Techniques Experience with LEAN manufacturing and general mechanical engineering Computer skills, including MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI Experience with CAD systems (ideally SolidWorks) Knowledge of the processes used in product inspection, manufacture, procurement, and design such as KAIZEN and 5S principles Experience performing statistical/ failure analysis and developing/ producing metrics to identify/ drive continuous improvement initiatives.
