More about our client and the role
Our client has a newly built facility for manufacturing Oral Nutritive Supplementary Food (ONSF) products in powder form. They are a MPI and GACC registered factory dedicated to manufacturing OEM and ODM products for clients of all demographics including infants, toddlers, sportsmen, pregnant women and elderly.
The client has a modern built-for-purpose manufacturing facility with state-of-the-art equipment. They use the latest blending and packaging systems to ensure high-quality and compliant product manufacturing. The factory is certified to manufacture cow, goat and sheep milk-powder based products in different packaging.
Our client understands that traceability is an essential consideration while buying nutritious food products. Hence, all their products come with an internationally approved traceability with full supply chain verification, allowing consumers to verify product authenticity and origins digitally.

Purpose of the Position
The primary responsibilities of the Production Assistant Manager is to work with the Process Team on the packing line to ensure they are fully supported and able to achieve and maintain best possible production levels through the optimisation and automation of the plant. To ensure that the company meets its requirements of products by managing the completion of all systems, processes and associated paperwork enabling the efficient manufacturing and releasing of product.
To identify machine failure and supervise Maintenance Team/contractors for repairing.

Key Responsibilities
Production Management
Work alongside Process Team
Work with management to review performance data to monitor and measure overall team productivity, goal achievement and effectiveness
Identify issues, escalate to General Manager where appropriate
Estimate waste and yield to enhance production efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity
Report key results and information to management
Ensure the team has a comprehensive understanding about food safety, product quality and regulatory requirements
Support Quality in providing clear direction to Process Team to achieve the required production levels while delivering product that meets customer specifications
Identify process and system improvements
Support Quality and Process Team to ensure the plant is operating at its optimum state.
Maintenance Management
Identify and report machine failure to management. Supervise Maintenance Team/contractors for repairing in a most efficient and cost saving style.
Leadership and Development
Supervise staffing levels, resources, and workflow, overseeing the allocation of work to ensure all team members are working effectively and at a level appropriate to their experience.
Maintain transparent communication. Appropriately communicate organisational information through team meetings, one-on-one meetings, appropriate email, and regular interpersonal communication.
Be responsible for providing strong leadership to Process Team and Maintenance Team
Be an advocate for supporting and growing the company culture
Ensure all reporting staff are appropriately inducted, trained and retrained on an ongoing basis
Be responsible for maintaining consistency across the Canning & Blending team
Report any issues to management where appropriate
Actively create and maintain a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall guiding principles and values of the client.
Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards and disciplinary action, with the assistance of our client's Human Resources team when necessary
Planning
Be responsible for coordinating Process Team and Maintenance Team and ensuring they have the resources to execute the production schedule
Create and maintain a current training plan for Process Team
Support management to ensure that the Process Team has a robust plan, enabling the team to meet the required product specifications, standards and targets for the planned production
Compliance and Risk Management
Be responsible for your own understanding, and that of the Process Team of the wider regulatory framework e.g RMP, and understand how all documentation and processes link back to these
Perform all tasks to a high standard to meet Standard Operating Procedures and Code of Conduct
Demonstrate and promote a proactive commitment to health, safety, wellbeing and the environment whilst complying with all laws and company policies.
Relationship Management
Establish a strong working relationship with our client's Business Units, ensuring integrated design and delivery
Health and Safety
Take responsibility for personal health and safety and ensure no action or inaction harms others in the workplace
Provide such information, training, and supervision as is necessary, to ensure that health and safety hazards are identified, understood and managed effectively
Other
Any other duties that may reasonably be requested by management
Adhere to Company systems, policies and procedures and relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice

Skills and Experience
Knowledge and Experience
Proven knowledge of Food Safety and RMP systems
Previous work experience displaying quality production skills within the Food/Dairy manufacturing industry is highly desired
Experience in and applied knowledge of industrial and personal safety behaviours
Demonstrated experience in managing teams
Attributes
Proven ability to record and report production KPI's
Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with people at all levels
Ability to build and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships and cooperatively work with others
Excellent time management skills and highly organised
