The Product Specialist - Lab Automation & Software Solutions (LASS) provides technical support for the assigned range of Lab Automation hardware and Roche IT software solutions. The key accountability of the Product Specialist is to plan and implement customer-interfacing support for connection of Roche equipment to middleware or customer Laboratory Information Systems (LIS). In addition, to provide the technical product information as required, to support the sales function of the assigned Roche IT Solutions with the local and global Sales & Marketing team- this includes the provision and coordination of activities relating to product introduction, ongoing product updates, and Key Account Manager support.
What you will be working on:
This role will flex across Molecular and Core Lab areas of the laboratory sector and include our Export customers outside NZ depending on business requirements and/or individual skills and expertise.
This role is responsible for covering key areas like Education, Training and Installation, Customer Service Support and Market/Customer Insights while maintaining strict adherence to Safety, Health & Environment and RDNZ's policies & procedures.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Timely training and installation & commissioning of Roche Sample handling automation and IT Software Solutions following the developed protocols
Performing software upgrades, patch updates, hotfixes and configuration in Roche IT Software Solutions to meet customer requests.
Providing software and technical support and problem resolution to the Service team and customers, in line with customer expectations
Documenting all Complaint Handling in compliance with Roche's Quality System.
Ensuring compliance and promotion of all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of everyone
Working with the local Safety Officer to ensure that all Global and Local Product and Safety Advice notices are communicated correctly to customers
Collaborating across network teams to provide market practice and customer insights to help inform customer requirements and to support RDNZ strategies
Who you are
You are a qualified diagnostics Lab Automation solutions expert with a strong passion for providing superior customer service and desire to contribute in a team environment. You have:
Degree in Electronics / Telecommunication / Biomedical Engineering or Medical Science, with special emphasis on Information Technology or equivalent
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in related fields within the Medical diagnostic industry or equivalent
A proven track record in Data Connectivity troubleshooting and resolution
Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure technology including servers, desktops, storage, networks, operation systems, platforms and configurations would be highly desirable. Knowledge of ASTM and HL7 protocols as well as experience using JavaScript and SQL a plus
A valid driver's license
