About the role: As a Product Owner in the Farm Software team, you'll play a key role within a cross functional team, who are dedicated to creating and managing products that drive the future of farming.
LIC's farm software products process millions of animal related events, boast over 14,000 unique users, over a dozen integration partners, and contribute over $50m in revenue to the cooperative each year.
Our software is the digital enabler that sits behind over 90% of dairy farms nationwide, it plays a critical part in sustaining our nation's prosperity.
The Product Owner role at LIC is the key product role within a cross functional software development team.
Your job is to ensure that the team have the customer and business context to solve the hard problems they are assigned.
Within the cross functional team, you'll also be the key conduit to a range of stakeholders, and you'll hold ownership of quarterly delivery outcomes.
Working alongside you will be solution architects, UX designers, business analysts, engineers, and testers.
Together you'll analyse and deeply understand problems, test hypotheses, document implementation plans, and ultimately deliver software solutions to our farming customers.
This job, as with the other roles on the product team, is an individual contributor role.
You will need to be able to influence your teammates, as well as colleagues, stakeholders, and key executives, through your use of data and logic.
The Product Owner we're currently looking to recruit would be working with a newly formed team on a substantial backend modernisation programme.
You'd have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology from the likes of AWS, Snowflake, and Fivetran implementing modern cloud native architectures.
You'd be applying these technologies to enhance our customer's experiences and unlock new value.
Notably reflecting our customer's changing farm systems, greater use of automation, larger volumes of animal data and their evolving expectations around software, including the application of AI.
About You You'll be an experienced Product Owner, bringing with you experience gained within environments that have an established product management practice.
You'll also demonstrate: Bachelor's degree or higher in agriculture, business or technology related field.
Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery.
2 years working on technology-powered products as either a product manager, product owner, product designer, engineer, data analyst, data scientist, or user researcher.
Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative.
Proven ability to engage with engineers, designers, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship.
Demonstrated ability to learn new areas of business.
