We are currently seeking a dedicated Product Assessor to join our clients team in the Northland Region, ideally based in Kerikeri. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality of their kiwifruit products at Packhouse and cool store facilities, in line with the companies Quality System and specifications.Accountabilities:Undertake activities in adherence with our clients Health and safety policies.Non compliance are identified, well communicated and resolved within specified timeframes in line with their policies and guidelines.Develop, implement, and deliver in full audit plans for their quality systems outlined, using a risk – based approach.Develop strong working relationships with industry staff responsible for quality and compliance, including quality, compliance, cool store, inventory and sire managers as applicable.Promote industry development of sound quality systems.Critical tasks:Achieve and maintain appropriate sign off as a Product Assessor.Undertake audits of facilities and maintain their product quality audit plan. Complete audit reports within specified timeframes. Maintain accurate audit records in real time and in a consistent manner.All registers, schedules and actions associated with audits and their findings need to be actively maintained and accessible to key stakeholders at all times.In order to meet the operational needs of the business, flexibility with work hours is essential. Weekend work (rostered) and scheduled night shifts (as per your facilities audit plan) will be required. Out of hours accessibility by phone/email is also necessary, particularly through main season.Managers outputs to meet seasonal demands.Communicate requirements to industry as part of the development of sound quality systems.Work closely and collaboratively with your facilities assigned quality assessor to deliver the full facility audit plan. Ensuring regular analysis of results is driving the audit plan for improved fruit quality outcomes for all.Follow up and report on quality issues identified as appropriate.Actively participate in annual quality system and procedure reviews.Work collaboration with the QA training coordinator to assist in delivering the training framework, performing 1:1 training of new staff when required.Qualifications:Literacy and numeracy level required to be able to write accurate audit reports and complete numerical tasks.Current full driver licence, and own reliable vehicle for travel to facilities.Ability to successfully complete an eyesight test to required level (every 2 years).Technical capability:Ability to develop sound knowledge of the quality system and specifications as well as external regulatory systems including GFSI food safety requirements.Confidence in using the Microsoft suite – Word, Excel, Power point, outlook, and ability to be trained in the use of customized IT packages.If you think you have the relevant skills and experience to be successful in this role, we would love to hear from you.
