Make a Real Difference In Our Environment: Lead Our Product & Volunteer Programmes To Accelerate Wildlife Conservation! Wildlife.ai - Who are we? Wildlife.ai is a passionate charity based in Taranaki that uses cutting-edge technology to supercharge environmental protection and empower communities. We develop open-source, user-friendly wildlife conservation solutions to monitor threatened species below water, on land and in the air. Through our work, we built a global network of volunteer Data Rangers who are passionate about using their digital skills to revolutionise wildlife conservation. Our unique mentor-mentee programme pairs AI experts with talented early-career individuals to co-create real-world solutions that save endangered species. While most of our projects are based in New Zealand, we also collaborate on conservation initiatives in various locations around the world. The Opportunity This is your chance to become a leader in our vibrant Data Ranger programme and scale our conservation tech for maximum impact. You'll manage the growth and engagement of our Data Ranger community, working alongside them to develop and scale our groundbreaking solutions. What You'll Do: Empower the next generation of conservation heroes: Manage and grow our volunteer Data Ranger programme, fostering a supportive and collaborative learning environment. Become a bridge of knowledge: Facilitate communication and knowledge transfer between mentors and mentees, and track project progress to ensure deliverables are being met. Coordinate workshops, training sessions, and meetups to empower Data Rangers with relevant skills and knowledge. Scout the best talent: Develop strategies to attract top individuals to our elite Data Ranger volunteer program. Market research and analysis - Identify customer preferences and target audiences to optimise product reach. Stakeholder analysis - seek customer feedback and ensure products meet customers' needs and requirements. Future-proof our solutions: Develop long-standing solutions through research into data science and conservation methods, product effectiveness evaluation, and lifecycle analysis. Open-source champion: Collaborate with the development team to ensure our solutions are user-friendly, non-invasive, and accessible to all. Measure our success: Monitor the impact of our solutions and report findings to stakeholders, proving our conservation power. Who You Are: A tech-savvy champion with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Environmental Science, Wildlife Biology, or a related field (preferred). A proven project manager with experience in volunteer coordination and collaborative projects. A master of MLops, data science, and/or environmental monitoring . An Agile methodology enthusiast. A communication rockstar with exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills. A natural mentor with the passion to guide early-career professionals. Why Wildlife.ai? We offer a competitive annual salary of $94,500, a flexible work schedule (40 hrs/week) and a fixed-term position for a year. Remote work is possible, but ideally, you'll be based in Taranaki (the role involves a mix of work-from-home, field visits, and office hours). You'll report directly to the General Manager and have the opportunity to share your insights with the Wildlife.ai board. Ready to Join the Movement?
