We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage day-to-day purchasing activities across various indirect categories, including chemical and consumable goods, corporate services, and capital expenditures for our manufacturing plants. You will play a key role in ensuring cost-effective procurement while maintaining supplier relationships and supporting operational efficiency.
You will provide effective advice and support to the procurement team and other key stakeholders across the business to drive continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with business units and stakeholders, identifying key risks and opportunities that support the businesses and teams' success.
You will be analytical-minded and outcome-focused and can flex communication styles and think outside the box.
Main Responsibilities Work collaboratively with category managers and project teams and represent Procurement on assigned projects on a case-by-case basis.
Provide commercial and competitive perspectives to ensure alignment with business objectives, focusing on cost-effectiveness, risk mitigation, and value creation.
Strengthen supplier relationships, and develop and monitor supplier evaluation measures.
Identify strategic issues for procurement and contract management, and their relationship to other parts of the business.
Skills and Experience To be considered for this role, you will have strong relationship-building skills across the business, along with previous experience or exposure in purchasing, strategic procurement, and commercial negotiation. You should be able to demonstrate your ability to achieve cost savings, negotiate supplier agreements, and run tactical tender processes efficiently.
Proven experience in managing the entire procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.
Proven procurement experience with demonstrable successes in achieving targets through planning and running strategic procurement processes.
Experience in dairy, manufacturing or FMCG preferred.
Contract drafting and negotiation experience is a key part of this role.
Strong listening skills to enable you to identify strengths, weaknesses, and alternative solutions when dealing with suppliers.
Proven ability to work under pressure and regularly meet deadlines in a multi-tasking environment.
