Procurement Manager - Building and ConstructionLocation: Ponsonby, Auckland, New ZealandSalary: Base + bonus and healthcareWe are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our team, specializing in the procurement of building and construction materials and supplies from China and other overseas markets for large-scale projects in New Zealand.
This is a critical role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective sourcing of materials for multi-unit housing developments and commercial property projects across New Zealand.Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute procurement strategies to source high-quality construction materials from international markets, with a strong focus on suppliers in China.Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including supplier identification, negotiation, contracting, and logistics coordination.Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas suppliers, ensuring reliable supply chains and adherence to quality standards.Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to forecast material requirements and align procurement timelines with project schedules.Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the global construction materials market.Monitor and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with project financial goals.Oversee compliance with New Zealand import regulations, building standards, and quality assurance protocols.Work closely with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply chain issues.Qualifications & Skills:Proven experience in procurement, with a focus on construction materials and international sourcing.Strong understanding of global supply chain management and logistics, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region.Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.Knowledge of New Zealand building standards and import regulations is highly desirable.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously.Proficiency in procurement software and tools is an advantage.Fluency in Mandarin or other relevant languages is a plus but not required.What We Offer:A competitive base salary with performance-based bonuses.A collaborative and dynamic work environment in the heart of Ponsonby, Auckland.Opportunities for professional growth and development in a rapidly expanding industry.If you have a strong background in international procurement and are passionate about contributing to New Zealand's construction and housing industry, we'd love to hear from you.How to Apply:Submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience.
