About the role We have a strong focus on creating an integrated global supply chain management system across our complex business.
We're working in a global environment across 48 markets, collaborating with over 1,000 vendors, handling over 2,000 unique materials to produce over 1,200 SKUs.
This is achieved by integrating our suppliers to ensure we provide globally competitive manufactured products.
We have a role for a Procurement Category Manager (7 month fixed term) to manage the Indirect spend portfolio.
Based in our Henderson head office, this role plays an important part in the team by defining and executing the Indirect category strategy, running sourcing activity and supporting good governance and risk management of our expenditure and supplier network.
You will Negotiate contract terms with suppliers, ensuring that contracts are aligned with Douglas' goals.
Monitor and manage risks through the procurement lifecycle.
Conduct annual spend analysis and write strategic plans for spend sourcing activities.
Support the annual reviews and contribute to minimising our carbon footprint.
Deliver cost savings and value through supplier consolidation and leveraging spend opportunities.
Lead procurement processes for strategic projects.
Develop category strategies and influence stakeholders to implement the strategies.
You will be/have PROCUREMENT insight - you will have some experience in procurement or category management ideally.
You understand contract and supplier negotiation and management.
COMMERCIAL & FINANCIAL ACCUMEN - you understand budgets and financials and you know your way around a business case.
A CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT mindset - you have experience in identifying improvements and can see where and how to improve.
A RELATIONSHIP BUILDER - you enjoy building relationships, internally and externally, working with people and valuing their expertise.
Maintaining business relationships comes easy to you.
Strong ATTENTION TO DETAIL - working with contracts, in a quality-first environment you will be able to spot anomalies a mile away.
