As the Procurement Manager for Packaging Materials at ZIWI, you'll spearhead and enhance the procurement, packaging and consumables processes, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality in delivering packaged and consumable products. Your responsibilities include overseeing the project tendering process with consumable suppliers to optimize pricing.
Ideally, you possess a robust background and practical understanding of procurement operations, currently occupying a comparable position in a medium to large organisation, and capable of showcasing successful outcomes from past experiences.
You will be able to showcase an ability to lead peers through a rapid change process having an ability to clearly articulate coherent goals and objectives. The position will initially require you to roll up your sleeves and be all things to all people as you will be sole person responsible for driving this process.
Key functional responsibilities that will require a demonstration of skill will include; negotiation of prices and delivery terms, supplier relationship management, packaging formats expertise, cost management, supply chain optimisation and risk management. Key responsibilities: Negotiation of seasonal carton, pouch, carton, can and label pricing while ensuring that quality and delivery standards are being maintained. Develop customised packaging solutions tailored to the unique needs of Ziwi Limited's pet food products, considering factors like freshness and shelf life. Establish and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers that align with our quality standards and sustainability goals. Work closely with our supply chain team to ensure smooth procurement and delivery of packaging materials. Key requirements: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, or a related field. Strong background in the procurement of packaging materials and/or similar type products. A sound knowledge of packaging materials inclusive of cartons, pouches, cans and labels. A strong understanding of the global rules and regulations as they pertain to packaging materials Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
