Ko wai matou - About EPL Rarangi Utu a-Matauranga - Education Payroll Limited (EPL) is a Crown entity that delivers pay to schools and kura on behalf of the Ministry of Education. With around 200 employees, we deliver one of the largest and most complex payrolls in Australasia.
The combination of great people and cutting-edge technology enable us to pay around 100,000 teachers and support staff across around 2,500 schools accurately and on time every fortnight. That's approximately $283 million a fortnight and $7.4 billion per annum.
Korero mo te turanga - About the role The Procurement and Contracts Manager is the steward of enterprise procurement at Education Payroll. This role is responsible for managing the procurement process, supporting the negotiation of contracts and ensuring compliance with regulations and organisational policies to secure goods and services efficiently and cost-effectively.
The role is also responsible for supporting supplier relationship management, including management of IT suppliers working alongside the relevant 'Head of' in Digital and Technology.
If successful, you'll be appointed between $104,000 and $130,000 depending on experience and capability.
Because of the highly collaborative nature of our work, Education Payroll is primarily an office-based workplace. Our office is in central Wellington, close to the train station for an easy commute. We do offer flexible working arrangements after the initial onboarding period.
Key accountabilities: Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements throughout the contract lifecycle.Assess risks associated with procurement activities and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.Identify potential suppliers and manage relationships with vendors to ensure procurement with of high-quality goods and services at competitive prices.Conduct cost benefit analysis to optimise spending and achieve cost savings.Collaborate with and support leaders to establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and potential suppliers. Have a background in IT contracts management Have experience in managing high value service contractsBe experienced in building and maintaining supplier relationshipsHave proven negotiation skillsBe able to support leaders through the procurement and contract management processBe able to support strategic outcomes for the organisationAn understanding of public service procurement regulations and best practice.
