This role focuses on delivering cost-effective, innovative, and efficient procurement solutions that align with best practices and organisational goals.You'll provide expert advice on procurement strategies, ensure compliance with regulations, and lead capability-building initiatives to improve staff proficiency.
By fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders and suppliers, you will help drive value through improved procurement outcomes that benefit the Waitaki community.He aha taau e kawe mai | What you'll bringThe preferred candidate will have:Qualifications: Degree-level qualifications in a relevant field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Membership in a professional institution or association and a full NZ Driver's Licence are required.Procurement Expertise: Over 5 years of experience in public sector and/or corporate procurement, with a proven ability to deliver cost savings, innovation, and effective supply chain solutions.Contract Management Skills: Demonstrated experience managing diverse portfolios, including construction, maintenance, corporate services, and IT, with a strong focus on negotiation and compliance.Strategic Thinking and Innovation: Ability to identify and implement innovative procurement strategies that create efficiencies and enhance value for money.Communication and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and effectively manage relationships with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers.Mo tatou | About usWaitaki District Council (WDC) is a dynamic and progressive local government organisation dedicated to serving the residents and communities of the Waitaki District.
