Procurement Advisor

We have an ambitious capital works plan to deliver on our long-term plan for the district. Working within the Project Management Office, you will provide hands-on procurement support, advice, and guidance for low value, low risk infrastructure and non-infrastructure related procurements to support delivery of the LTP.Te Wero – The ChallengeSupporting the Procurement Specialist, you will be working closely with Project and Contract Managers, and many Business Teams across the organisation.You will also contribute to the collation of data on procurement activities for executive reporting. This is an exciting mid-level role within a busy team.The key accountabilities of this position are:Provision of procurement / contractual / commercial advice to business units for low value and low risk procurements which aligns with Councils procurement framework and policy.Complete RFX documentation including managing release of documents to the markets, managing responses, drafting evaluation reports.Support the Procurement Specialist with complex procurement processes.Monitor and manage the procurement mailbox, and Procurement Management System (PMS) and provide relevant advice on procurement steps and process.Government Electronic Tendering System GETS PO (Procurement Officer) responsibilities for releasing updating and managing tender documents.Creation of regular procurement reporting.Provide training to key staff on the procurement function within Council.Support the development of and maintain procurement templates and procurement webpages.Maintain and update procurement records and generate reports on procurement and contract activity to meet compliance requirements and provide access to procurement information.We're seeking a candidate with:Relevant Degree, Business Diploma or relevant experience in commercial/procurement settings.Knowledge of local government functions (preferred).Self-motivation and initiative.Precision and attention to detail under tight deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).Willingness to understand and promote Te Ao Maori, tikanga, Te Reo Maori, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.A commitment to community outcomes.A mindset for continuous improvement.Far North District Council are proud of our diverse workforce and are committed to maintaining an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.
