Position OverviewWe have an exciting opportunity for a Process Technician to join our team.
In this role, you will support all key activities and processes associated with the effective operation and maintenance of our Huia Water Treatment Plant.
You will be involved in overseeing and optimising the operational processes involved in the water treatment plant.
You will also:
Identify and resolve process-related issues, ensuring minimal process/plant downtime.Ensure all activities comply with drinking water standards and regulations, including those set by the water regulator, Taumata Arowai.Review and record compliance data, ensuring accurate completion of log sheets and event investigation reports.Maintain and monitor chemical inventory levels and ensure proper storage and handling procedures are followed.Work with Process Engineers to identify ways to optimise water treatment processes.Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure personnel and team safety.Oversee and perform minor maintenance and project tasks.Be part of the roster for the on-call response to after-hours critical alarms.QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will ideally have water/wastewater industry experience and a background of plant operation in a high volume, continuous process industry such as the Dairy or Petrochemical industries.
You will also bring:
A National Certificate/Diploma in Water Treatment is desirable and/or willingness to study towards achieving these qualifications.A suitable trade qualification and good hands-on technical skills.Previous experience as a Plant Operator or similar.Experience in the operation of SCADA control systems.A full driver's license.An excellent work ethic and a can-do, positive attitude.Exceptional communication skills.BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary and staff benefits package including:
