Our clientele includes business leaders, executives, and influential travellers who expect the highest level of discretion and service.
With a strong base in the Bay of Islands and growing demand from exclusive resorts like Te Arai Links and Tara Iti, we've recently expanded to Mangawhai to meet the needs of our clients, while continuing to provide seamless transfers to Auckland and beyond.
We are seeking professional, experienced guides who can deliver exceptional tours and private transfers in Northland and Auckland.
While the focus is on the Bay of Islands and Mangawhai, knowledge of Auckland is highly valued due to frequent transfer requests.
The Role As a Luxury Tour Guide/Driver with Black Robin, you will provide top-tier service to some of the world's most discerning guests.
Whether you're handling private transfers to or from Auckland or guiding bespoke tours of Northland's scenic landscapes, you'll be responsible for ensuring every journey is seamless, engaging, and memorable.
Our clients are used to the very best — expecting discretion, professionalism, and comfort at every turn.
Your role will go beyond driving, as you craft personalized experiences, offering historical and cultural insights or simply maintaining the highest level of service and privacy.
Key Responsibilities Provide luxury private tours and transfers primarily in the Bay of Islands, Mangawhai, and Auckland regions, focusing on the needs of high-end guests.Offer discreet, personalised service, ensuring guests are comfortable and their schedules are respected.Share your knowledge of Northland's history, culture, and landscapes, offering insights that enhance the guest experience.Manage logistics, including airport pickups, drop-offs, and scenic transfers, ensuring smooth and timely journeys for clients.Maintain a professional, calm demeanour, reading guest preferences and adapting your service accordingly.Collaborate with local providers to deliver seamless exclusive experiences that align with Black Robin's values.
About You This role is ideal for semi-retired professionals, particularly those from corporate or business backgrounds, who are looking to stay active while delivering luxury-level service.
You understand the importance of discretion and professionalism, and thrive on providing exceptional customer service to high-caliber clients.
You'll need to be a flawless driver, able to stay calm under pressure and handle unexpected circumstances with professionalism and ease.
Whether it's a tight schedule, a flight delay, or a change in plans, you remain flexible and focused, ensuring a smooth, enjoyable experience for the guests.
Our ideal candidate is: Based in either the Bay of Islands or Mangawhai.Familiar with Northland, especially the Bay of Islands and Mangawhai areas, with strong knowledge of Auckland being a valuable asset.Experienced in providing high-end customer service to discerning, international guests, with the ability to read and adapt to their needs.Comfortable delivering discreet, tailored service and understanding the balance between offering engaging hospitality and giving guests their space.Flexible with working hours, especially during the busy summer season, and comfortable with the seasonal nature of the tourism industry.Passionate about New Zealand's history, culture, and natural beauty, and enjoys sharing this knowledge with others.This Role is Perfect For: Semi-retired professionals who want to stay active while offering high-end service to discerning clients.Individuals with experience in luxury tourism, guiding, or hospitality, who want flexible, rewarding work in the Bay of Islands, Mangawhai, and Auckland regions.Those passionate about sharing New Zealand's landscapes, culture, and history with a global audience.Requirements: Current Passenger Endorsement License (or willingness to obtain).A valid New Zealand Driver's License.Experience with long-distance driving and strong knowledge of New Zealand road regulations.Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
