Job Description The primary function of this role is to lead water management within the Waihi North Project. Integral to this is the understanding and investigations required for the internal and external design and approvals necessary to advance the Wharekirauponga Underground Mine (WUG).
Some Key Accountabilities:
Support project management, geological, geotechnical and hydrogeological studies related to mine water management projects
Oversee field work, including site characterisation, drilling requirements, hydraulic testing and water quality sampling and assessment
Develop and deliver a detailed hydrogeological model for Wharekirauponga including the design, planning and implementation of any grouting requirements and water management infrastructure
Actively engage with Waihi operations to collaboratively develop hydrogeological readiness
Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology or Hydrogeology
10 + years' Hydrogeological experience, ideally in a role that has encompassed field work and hydrogeological investigations for underground mines
Exposure to Australian or New Zealand mining (highly desirable)
Demonstrated practical mine site experience (highly desirable)
Long term involvement in technical investigations and support of hydrogeological projects
Experience in underground mines within volcaniclastic deposits (highly desirable)
Proven capability in managing specialised contractors and consultants across multiple work fronts
Experience in community consultation, government and stakeholder engagement including the development of collaborative processes
Advanced consultation, facilitation, advocacy, negotiation, interpersonal skills, report writing and presentation skills
