Position: Principal (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi
Subjects: English, Health and Physical Education, Learning Languages, Mathematics and Statistics, Science, Social Sciences, Technology, Te Reo Maori, The Arts
Vision: "Developing and empowering engaged RURAL learners!"
School: U2 Primary School Y1–8

We need a passionate, knowledgeable educator to lead our team, able to deliver rich learning experiences for the students in our care. Someone who can create an environment where every child has a strong sense of belonging, can thrive, and achieve through our RURAL values. Our new Principal will be visible, warm, and engaging with students, staff, whanau, and our wider school community.

Be a dynamic, strategic, and future-focused leader
Have high expectations for individual student learning and success
Ensure quality teaching and rich learning experiences for all students

Effectively lead the school through the ongoing development and implementation of a refreshed and coherent localized curriculum
Be capable of continuing to integrate te ao Maori and te reo Maori into Whareama culture and curriculum
Be an excellent communicator with outstanding people skills—this job really is about relationships
Have proven ability to lead, inspire, coach, and empower others
Have strong financial and administrative skills
