Lepperton School is seeking a new principal to lead us through the next stage of our educational journey, expanding from a contributing primary Y1–6 to a full primary Y1–8. The principal will play a key role in shaping our school's academic and social environment, promoting excellence, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
Located in a picturesque rural setting just 15 minutes from the CBD of New Plymouth, Lepperton School offers a modern learning environment in a beautiful purpose-built facility. We are looking for a dynamic, visionary leader who is passionate about education and dedicated to student success. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a proven track record in teaching and administration, and a deep understanding of educational best practices.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing the revised curriculum to include Y7–8
Developing and implementing a compelling educational vision and strategic plan
Collaborating with teachers, staff, parents, and the community to enhance student learning and wellbeing
Promoting a positive school culture focused on academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and respect for diversity
Leading professional development initiatives to support staff growth and instructional effectiveness
Managing school operations and resources effectively
Demonstrating a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Maori, with a high degree of cultural competence and responsiveness
Candidates should have a relevant educational background, significant leadership experience, and excellent communication skills.
