Korero mo te turanga - About the roleAbout Crown Property: We are excited to announce a newly created Principal Solution Delivery Specialist role within our Crown Property team. This role is part of a recent change initiative aimed at fostering closer relationships with our customers and developing a more strategic approach to managing the Crown property across New Zealand.It's a unique opportunity to contribute to the responsible stewardship and sustainable use of Crown Land for the benefit of both current and future generations. The Project Delivery team are responsible for the detailed planning and monitoring of packages of work delivered through key stakeholders, including planned maintenance, demolition and remediation activity, and disposals.About the role: LINZ has a varied portfolio of vertical assets ranging from residential, closed schools, hospitals, prisons, and commercial buildings. With the portfolio predominantly located across the North Island in isolated and rural areas, you'll be based in Wellington, and travelling to scope and complete supplier/contractor reviews on site.Working closely with your leader and our Built Structures team, you will utilise your extensive experience within a licensed building practitioner or quantity surveying, and relationships in construction/refurbishments to support the effective and value for money delivery of LINZ's refurbishment and renewals programme.He pukenga tou - Skills & ExperienceAt least 12-15 years relevant experience in practical delivery of construction/refurbishment work, ideally from a licensed building practitioner or quantity surveyor background or similar.Significant practical experience in the delivery of refurbishment/renewals and scoping; including reviewing/developing contractor quotes and/or proposed methodologies with a demonstrable track record of delivering value for money outcomes.Confident in providing technical construction/refurbishment advice across a diverse range of building types to internal and external stakeholders.Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).Demonstrated experience in management of suppliers and contractors.Proficient knowledge of building codes, seismic, cultural, heritage, health & safety, and other industry-related legislation, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation to support the development and delivery of the work programme.Demonstrated ability in working in a dynamic environment, delivering creative cost-effective solutions with a focus on best for project outcomes.Strong prioritisation and project management skills to support the development and delivery of programme of works efficiently and effectively.Valid unrestricted New Zealand License.Previous experience working in local or central government is not required.Extensive knowledge of building products to support continuous improvement and refining of specified products.Relevant qualification in either the building industry, quantity surveying or related field (preferred, but not essential).The expected appointing range for this role is between $130,000 - $150,000.Nga mea e tukuna ana e tatau - What we offer our employeesInteresting work which impacts Aotearoa as we care for whenua, moana, and arawai.Eye & ear care reimbursements.Annual Flu Vaccinations.Reduced Health Insurance Premiums.Diverse groups and networks.If eligible for paid parental leave, you will be entitled to a top-up payment for the first 18 weeks of the 26 weeks.A minimum of four weeks and three days annual leave.Te Takinatanga - Our Story: Toitu Te Whenua plays a vital role in understanding, developing, and caring for New Zealand's whenua, moana, and arawai (land, sea, and waterways).
