With an exciting time ahead and constant learning opportunities the Business Performance function within the Customer & Network Performance Division is looking for two Principal Project Managers. As catalysts for change this team is looking for individuals with a growth mindset that thrives on continual improvement. Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
Auckland's population is growing at the size of a small city each year and our roads are a finite resource and are struggling to cope with the wide variety of demands placed on them. But Auckland Transport has a plan, called Room to Move, over the next decade AT will transform Auckland into a city that can move and thrive.
This complex and ambitious Programme requires two Principal Project Managers with strong leadership and project management skills to join our Programme team and help us deliver on our goals.
As a recognised subject matter expert in project management, you will establish and lead workstream delivery that will have numerous kerbside management initiatives/projects. The roles will focus on financial delivery, design management, stakeholder management, procurement, contract management and delivery management.
This role requires excellent speaking skills, the ability to adapt communication style and presentation tools to different audiences, and to engage effectively with stakeholders, Local Boards, other government agencies, and teams across Auckland Transport, including senior management.
These are full time, permanent opportunities.

If you are an experienced and skilled Project Management professional who considers stakeholder management and collaborative design as key strengths and enjoys working with competing interests to find the best way forward, we want to hear from you.
Ideally, you will have a good understanding and appreciation of the workings and functions of local government, including current and future business drivers and statutory requirements, as well as:

Extensive experience in project management roles
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently and clearly when communicating verbally and in writing.
Creative problem solver, that can adapt and who is an influencer that can garner the commitment of external and internal stakeholders at all levels of an organisation within a changing and evolving environment.
Ability to make sound decisions based on analysis of complex data and supportive research.
A high level of resilience and persistence with the ability to manage challenging, ambiguous and complex issues calmly and logically.
