Principal Logistics Engineering Technician Location: Auckland, NZ, 0624 Onsite or Hybrid: Hybrid About the role Reporting to the Obsolescence Manager for a 2 year fixed term, the Principal Reliability Engineering Technician will provide expert technical advice and support relating to availability, reliability, and maintainability for the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN).
This is in support of the development or optimisation of the RNZN physical assets and supporting policy and processes.
They will also lead stakeholder engagement within the technical community and provide technical leadership and input into the other elements of the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) program.
Key responsibilities will include: Plan, manage, and conduct technical logistic support analysis, including Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Maintenance and Operating Task Analysis (MTA & OTA), facility requirements identification, planned maintenance documentation, technical maintenance plans, and Logistic Support Analysis Record (LSAR) development.
Provide expert input for quality control of technical logistic analysis products, including conducting quality checks for technical investigations.
Lead engagement with key stakeholders and subject matter experts within the Babcock/NZDF technical community.
Provide technical leadership and input into various ILS-related activities, such as Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), spares inventory development, Life Cycle Cost (LLC) analysis, root cause analysis, technical publications, and Acceptance Verification and Validation (Maintainability).
Conduct complex technical investigations and analysis to assess problems, propose resolutions, and design improvements.
About you You will have extensive experience within a supply chain or maintenance environment and ILS acquisition or sustainment programs.
Your track record includes previous experience in applying logistic support analysis and successfully managed data management programs.
Your knowledge extends to a deep understanding of applicable ILS and Engineering Toolsets, such as PLM or MRP systems, as well as modeling, design, simulation, and analysis software.
You've also earned a technical vocational qualification, either a diploma or an associate degree.
Ideally, you hold professional certification with a relevant technical body.
In addition to your experience, you have previous hands-on involvement with electrical systems, and you've conducted Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Risk Assessments.
You've ideally gone the extra mile by completing additional training in Reliability Engineering, Asset Management, or Logistical Support.
While previous experience in RNZN systems is considered helpful, it's not essential.
You excel in mentoring more junior members of the engineering team, guiding their development.
Your analytical and problem-solving skills are second to none.
If you bring previous ILS engineering experience in Defence or Defence Industry, it's a significant asset.
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems is a valuable addition to your skillset.
