We're charged with improving the rules and regulations imposed by Government to make them more streamlined and easier for New Zealanders to navigate.

About the Role: In this senior role you will be instrumental in providing legal advice and guidance to support us as we establish the Ministry and set it up for the future.
Taking a collaborative approach, you will use your extensive technical skills and experience in a broad range of legal work from the legal framework that governs the regulatory management system to drafting and negotiating contracts.
The role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires a capacity to exercise sound judgement, and the ability to proactively develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
This role is banded from $145,563 - $193,287. The sucessful candidate will be appointed within this range dependent on skills and experience.
About you: Have a look in the position description for further details about what we're looking for, but a couple of important points:
• You will need a tertiary qualification in law, and currently hold (or be eligible to hold) a practising certificate.
• To be considered for this position you must be a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident and able to obtain and maintain a NZ Government National Security clearance.
