Opiki School is a highly regarded school with a proud history. We have amazing tamariki, dedicated staff, and fantastic whanau and community that really support our kura. Our focus at present is on the hauora of our tamariki, connecting with the community and how this promotes and encourages learning within our kura. Our goal is to accelerate the all-round achievement of all tamariki.
Opiki School has a rich local curriculum closely linked to the environment and the history of our local area. Our school provides our students with a sense of who they are and where they come from while still prioritising the core curriculum. We continue to acknowledge and celebrate the strong agricultural and horticultural origins our families have with the arable land that surrounds us.
The person we are looking for will:

Lead a collaborative vision, within a cohesive team in a dynamic and inspirational manner and value current staff strengths.
Be able to lead while fostering the current direction of innovative learning practices at Opiki School.
Have a passion for learning and teaching and will be 'hands on' and involved in classrooms.
Be willing to listen to and value student voice.
Uphold our rural values and have the ability to build strong relationships with the school and community.
Be an effective communicator who is approachable and can build positive relationships.
Approach new ideas creatively and encourage, motivate, challenge and inspire staff with their teaching practice to promote excellence in student achievement.
Be respectful, culturally aware and a collaborative team player.
Value growing the whole community and staff to enable the child to 'be the best me I can be.'
