We are looking for an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead our Northland team!
The opportunity in a nutshell:
We are a multi-disciplinary consultancy offering professional geotechnical, contaminated land, civil, 3 water infrastructure and natural hazard engineering services complemented with aerial mapping and lidar skills. We have grown to a technically capable team of 15 engineers and pride ourselves that we offer a one stop shop for our clients.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer or Senior Geotechnical Engineer looking to make the leap into leadership. Not only will you be able to grow and mold your own team and workload in the beautiful Bay of Islands where we have a well established workload but you will be actively involved in the leadership of our business. You will also be a key contributor to our technically challenging geotechnical projects both nationwide and internationally. This includes tunnelling projects, landslide mitigation and remediation, high rise buildings and basement designs, government buildings and major landfill designs.
You will be given the support and resources to develop yourself as a business leader in addition to the freedom to build a vibrant team culture in a business that founds its core values on sustainability, mental wellbeing and building strong relationships.
About you:
To succeed in this role we are looking for candidates with:
Current chartered geotechnical engineering status is preferable for this position or close to achieving.
10 years or more of post graduate experience as a geotechnical engineer.
Relevant engineering degree.
An understanding of New Zealand engineering standards and regulation.
Team leadership or mentoring experience with excellent written and verbal communication.
Experience managing client expectations and project requirements, including quoting, invoicing and team budgets.
A strong understanding of Health and Safety legislation and best practice, with a particular focus or experience in how this applies to our industry.
A drive to deliver the best results for our clients.
