The Engineering Practice led by our Chief Engineer is made up of 400+ people covering roles such as Distinguished Engineers, Principal Engineers, Domain Leads, Chapter Leads and Engineers who have capabilities across 7 different Chapters (Development, Data, Technical Analysis, Testing, Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering and Security).
As a Practice, we provide Platforms and Tribes with the enduring Engineering capability to deliver on our business strategy.
About the role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer - Salesforce to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Salesforce architecture and a proven track record of designing and implementing scalable, secure solutions.
This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to work closely with stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that meet business requirements.

You'll have the opportunity to get hands-on with some interesting and complex pieces of work that integrate on an enterprise scale, all while being part of a tight autonomous multi-disciplinary team of uber-talented Principal Engineers that drive engineering excellence across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities: Solution Design: Design scalable and secure solutions on the Salesforce platform that meet business requirements.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring best practices are followed.
Integration: Design and implement integration solutions between Salesforce and other systems.
Performance Optimization: Optimize the performance of Salesforce applications and ensure they are scalable.
Security: Ensure that solutions adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.
Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for solutions and architectures.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Strategic Roadmaps: Develop and maintain strategic roadmaps for Salesforce solutions, aligning them with business goals and objectives.
Delivery Management: Oversee the delivery of Salesforce projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Mentorship: Mentor and train junior developers and architects.
About you: We'll value your proven initiative, problem-solving abilities, and ways in which you have shown leadership while performing your role.
You will work collaboratively with other leaders across Technology and stakeholders to be the voice of Engineering particularly on our public cloud transformation journey.
We are looking for someone who has: Extensive Salesforce Knowledge: Deep understanding of Salesforce architecture, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and other Salesforce products.
Certifications: Actively pursuing Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA), Application Architect, and System Architect certifications.
Project Management: Experience in managing large-scale Salesforce projects from inception to delivery.
Integration Experience: Proven experience in integrating Salesforce with other enterprise systems.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience in leading technical teams and projects.
