This position typically works under limited supervision and direction. May supervise subordinate engineering staff and lead design efforts. Job Details: Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Develops circuit, component, subsystem, and equipment interfaces and procurement specifications Designs digital, analog and radio frequency circuits, components, and subsystems Prepares design specifications, analyses and makes recommendations Performs circuit interconnection or subsystem prototype assembly Prepares design and operation objectives, specifications and resource needs Recommends test control, strategies, apparatus and equipment Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services Conducts in-house design reviews and technical meetings Prepares design proposal to reflect cost, schedule and technical approaches Keeps abreast of improvements in electronic engineering techniques and introduces them to projects in a controlled and risk-mitigated manner Support prototype construction, de-bug, and tests Log, compile and evaluate engineering data Write engineering manuals, procedures and reports Develop logic flowcharts and block diagrams May support on-site installation activities May give work assignments and check work of technicians or design support personnel on a common project May provide technical direction and guidance to Design Engineers, Technicians, or Design Support personnel assigned to work on a common project General Duties and Responsibilities: Comply with Cubic's Quality Management System Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures Ensure own health and safety and that of others by following all rules and procedures, reporting and managing all hazards in the work area and actively contributing to, and participating in, company health and safety initiatives Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organisations Comply with Cubic Human Resources Procedures Other duties as requested Minimum Job Requirements: Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in the field of electronics engineering, computer science, information systems, or other relevant technical discipline Skills/Experience/Knowledge: Minimum of 10 years hands-on electronic product development experience in a broadly similar high-tech environment Experience with low power, radio frequency, microcontroller and laser circuit design Personal Qualities: Ability to work as a team or independently to achieve solid outcomes in response to incident and problem management Ability to manage, develop, mentor and grow subordinate engineers Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to influence and manage stakeholders at all levels Disciplined approach to system documentation Good project management and time management skills Demonstrated resilience and commitment to task completion Have the flexibility to travel when required Condition of Employment: Successful outcome of a National Police Check NZ working rights Worker Type: Employee#J-18808-Ljbffr
