A person who has a commitment to providing fit-for-purpose information to support good decisions and is a strategic thinker who relishes working at the interface between evidence and decision-making.
Someone who puts people first, values diversity, and has the potential to develop and grow into a team leader.
MUST HAVE: Strong New Zealand ecology knowledge, particularly on indigenous vegetation.Experience in ecological effects assessments, management, and restoration of natural areas.Ability to think strategically and work proactively towards Wildlands Strategic vision.Passion and commitment to excellent leadership with proven people management skills.Great communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to build productive working relationships and work collaboratively.Experience in working with ambiguity and dealing with complex problems.An understanding of the importance of other knowledge bases and information sources (including matauranga Maori).Project and budget management skills.Experience with writing tender responses, contract reports, and managing fieldwork.A PhD (strongly preferred) or other postgraduate qualification in ecology, particularly good knowledge and experience of New Zealand botany and plant ecology, restoration biology, and ecological management.If you are interested in what we are looking for and possess all or most of these skills and are keen to be involved in a wide range of projects delivering innovative and sustainable solutions, then we would like to hear from you.
