* Multiple permanent roles seeking clinical expertise in mental health and addiction, with experience specifically in areas such as infant, child and youth, forensic and older people's mental health * Immediate opportunities to be involved in once-in-a-lifetime work, including supporting the implementation of the new Mental Health Bill * Full and part time applications will be considered, as will applications from outside Wellington * Salary midpoint of $140,938, actual salary dependent on your experience Ko ake mahi - What you'll do Come and join a new multi-disciplinary team designed to bring together Clinicians, Lived Experience, and System Insights.
This is a new way to use your clinical expertise to support policy and strategy development, as well as an opportunity to support changes as the new Mental Health Bill comes on stream in 2027.
* Contribute to an exciting work programme relevant to your skills and experience, including once-in-a-lifetime changes to the mental health legislation and supporting the implementation of a suite of action plans * Provide clinical leadership, support and oversight to the Chief Clinical Advisor Mental Health and Addiction, Group Manager and wider MHASP leadership in support of the Director General and Minister of Mental Health * Bring your experience to bear in areas such as providing expert advice, strategy development and implementation plans, responding to senior leadership/ministerial level queries and developing work programmes * Take a system-level, 'whole-of-government' approach, with a focus on relationship building, to help break down silos and achieve better outcomes for people Ko pukenga - What you'll bring * Extensive experience in developing and maintaining effective professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders * A sound and extensive broad clinical background ideally with other relevant experience (e.g.
research, high-level writing, programme leadership) * Knowledge of key issues impacting on the New Zealand mental health and addiction space * Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, manage and influence in a clinical leadership role * Ability to think critically, assimilate complex and often competing ideas logically and write/articulate these clearly and concisely * Commitment to improving equity of health outcomes, especially in relation to Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations * You must currently hold a relevant Annual Practicing Certificate without limitations to be eligible for this position Ko wai matou - About us At Manatu Hauora – Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance.
