It could be a complete game-changer for you; you'll be helping to shape the direction of Porirua's growth for generations to come, and with your energy and drive, you could do great things.As our Principal Building Assurance Officer, you will be required to:help lead an effective and engaged team who deliver high-quality Building Assurance servicesprovide technical expertise and advice on matters relating to the Building Act 2004, New Zealand Building Code, and other associated regulationsinvestigate and provide input into any building-related claims and disputes against the councilmanage the more complex building-related applicationsproblem solve and effectively manage complex complaints in a customer-focused approachoversee the quality and consistency of technical decisionscontribute to developing and maintaining a technically capable team through mentoring and developing others.All about youYou will be extremely adept at working on complex building-related applications and queries. You'll be energetic and organised with an analytical mind; your interpersonal skills will influence and engage others.You'll need to show us that you:have a proven high level of technical building knowledge and significant work experience in building controlhave extensive knowledge and application of the Building Act 2004, New Zealand Building Code, and associated regulationshave excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to foster effective working relationshipshave experience mentoring and coaching others on a technical level and bring a positive approach to developing othersare resilient with the ability to operate successfully and professionally in a high-pressure environment.For further information please call Leonie McPhail on 04237 1464.Porirua City embraces and values diversity and inclusion.
