Supportive and inclusive team Flexible working to support your work-life balance Moteneituranga?mahi |?About this role?? TePiringa?(Tiriti?Commitments) will manage strategic Maori relationships including the national iwi chairs forum and?Te?Tai Kaha.
Negotiates Treaty settlements and co-ordinates the Ministry's participation in Treaty-related claims in the Courts and Waitangi Tribunal (with technical support from others teams in the Ministry.
In terms of claimant funding,?TePiringa?continues to?be responsible for?the Ministry's claimant funding policy, including oversight of the policy's implementation.

Proven ability to provide practical policy advice to solve/address problems.
Experience providing written and oral briefings to Ministers and senior officials Experience providing high-quality written and oral briefings to Ministers for meetings with iwi/PSGEs Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to tailor to different audiences, delivering work efficiently and to a high standard.
Highly developed knowledge and practical skills and experience in: Treaty settlements, the Treaty settlement process and historical context Te Tiriti o Waitangi the Maori Crown relationship context Detailed knowledge of Treaty Settlements and Negotiations processes and Ministry requirements?? Enable the Ministry to respond to Treaty-related claims in the Courts and Waitangi Tribunal, and developing Treaty redress policy.
Demonstrated experience in engaging with Maori or Treaty Settlement negotiation Deep understanding of the Government's priorities and the relevant political context that shapes decision making Demonstrated knowledge of te ao Maori perspectives and Maori rights and interests Possesses a deep understanding of the machinery of government, exceptional written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in policy development.
Adept at mentoring and coaching junior team members, leading complex projects, and offering thought leadership through advanced expertise and experience.
