It is a Crown entity governed by a Minister-appointed Board and advised on Maori interests and knowledge by a statutory Maori Advisory Group, Te Puna.Our responsibilities are to protect and promote drinking water safety and related public health outcomes - we regulate drinking water suppliers on behalf of the public.
We also have an oversight role in relation to the environmental performance of drinking water, wastewater and stormwater networks.If you're a passionate and driven individual who shares our vision for making water safe every day for everyone, then join us and be part of making a difference.Role Overview:The Principal Advisor, Risk and Accountability will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing high-level strategic advice in relation to risk management, official correspondence, accountability documents and reporting.Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic advice to the Chief Executive, Senior Leadership team and Board members on changes, challenges, opportunities and risks in the operating environment.Oversee the management of the Success and Uncertainty framework (our risk management framework), including the maintenance of the framework.Oversee and lead the development of strategic analysis for organisational performance and risk management at the Authority.Play a key role in leading the Governance and Performance team towards a strategic, future-thinking model across the support services being provided.Innovation and creativity are key drivers in the way we work - our size requires us to be smart and agile.Qualifications:We are looking for someone who has:10+ years experience in similar roles, or roles with relevant cross-transferrable skills.Demonstrated strong political neutrality and acumen.Demonstrated credibility with senior leaders to engage, influence and challenge where necessary.Strong understanding of organisational risk management.Me pehea te tuku tono | How to applyClick "apply" you will be redirected to our Talent Portal.You must have a legal right to work in New Zealand.
