Principal Advisor, Mental Health and Addiction Regulation at Ministry of Health, WellingtonSecondment or fixed term opportunity (9 months)Regulatory role in mental health and addiction to ensure the system is working as required through legislation, protecting the rights of consumersSalary midpoint of $140,938 depending on experienceKo ake mahi - What you'll do This is a fixed-term or secondment opportunity for an experienced Principal Advisor to join the team. This team supports the Director of Mental Health and Addiction's regulatory roles.
The team:
Monitors and reports on the mental health system's compliance with legal requirementsAdministers the rules and permissions for individuals who are subject to compulsory assessments and treatmentsAdvises the Director of Mental Health and Addiction, and the MinisterRegulates the system that enables recreational drugs to be tested to minimise harmThe principal advisor will be expected to:
