Principal Advisor Issues and Resolutions, (Fixed Term)As a Principal Advisor Issues and Resolutions, you'll collaborate with Directors providing advice on high priority issues and risks across the conservation regulatory system. You will work across the Policy and Regulatory services group to identify operational solutions to regulatory risks and issues. This is a fixed term/secondment role through to mid 2026, based in Wellington.Key accountabilities of this role include:Monitor and stay current with regulatory changes, updates, and requirements.Lead or manage aspects of priority regulatory projects or workstreams.Provide technical leadership into key regulatory workstreams.Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of both internal and external issues and relationships.Ensure that Directors, Deputy Directors-General, and the Director-General/Senior Leadership Team are consistently informed about critical regulatory risks and issues by providing timely updates that will help maintain effective oversight.Ensure that Group leadership receives high-quality information, including analysis, insights, and advice to enable them to make well-informed decisions regarding the prioritisation of issues and their resolution.We are seeking someone with substantial experience in natural resources planning and consenting matters. An understanding of how Treaty Partnerships influence regulatory decision-making is preferred. The ideal candidate will also have extensive experience in the design and implementation of policy, legal, and regulatory processes.We are keen to hear from you if you have the following:Highly skilled in regulatory risk and issues management.Able to navigate the complexity of environmental decision making to support good outcomes for conservation.Experience dealing with ambiguity and developing new or pragmatic solutions to challenging problems.Excellent communication, relationship and influencing skills, demonstrated through successful experience in cross organisation collaboration.Strong understanding of the role of te Tiriti o Waitangi in a regulatory setting.Apply online with a CV and cover letter that highlights your relevant skills, experience and motivation for joining Te Papa Atawhai.
