The Opportunity The newly created Strategy team has been established to lead the development of strategic direction and guide the alignment of implementation planning and delivery to help NZTA achieve its purpose and priorities. It will work in partnership internally and externally to provide multi-outcome thought leadership and advice, informed by a future facing outlook, research and evaluation, and a long-term view. This is a fantastic opportunity to join this new team as a Principal Advisor Evaluation, where you will influence the delivery of the organisation's strategic objectives by contributing to the provision of high-quality evaluation and intelligence. You will be involved in developing and managing a programme of evaluation, consulting with key stakeholders to deliver a long-term programme that aligns with multiple government frameworks and a sector-wide vision. With a multi-outcome, long-term view, you will be working across the organisation's business groups translating strategy into action that will make a tangible difference to improving land transport outcomes. What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate will have some or all of the following (but don't worry if you don't tick every box): Experience in transport, urban or network economics. Knowledge of data sources, skills and data management, and ability to undertake quantitative analysis. Evaluation skills - able to carry out ex-post analysis including causal inferencing. Degree in economics, engineering, or related field. Proven experience in leading, influencing, and building credibility across a range of senior stakeholders. Sound knowledge of best practice in research and analysis. Exceptional written and oral presentation, communication, and advocacy skills. Problem-solving skills, flexibility, and resilience during times of change and ambiguity. Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is essential.
