Bring your sound experience in communications, engagement, and media to Aotearoa New Zealand's newest inquiry, the Phase 2 Royal Commission of Inquiry (COVID-19 Lessons).
About us: A Royal Commission of Inquiry is the highest form of public inquiry for the most serious issues of public importance. The issue of public importance that the Phase 2 inquiry is directed to examine is the lessons learned from Aotearoa New Zealand's response to COVID-19 that should be applied in preparation for any future pandemic.
The Principal Advisor, Communications, Engagement and Media will be a key member of the small but effective establishment team for the Phase 2 inquiry. This will be an active and fast-paced role. Under the Inquiries Act 2013, the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) provides administrative assistance to Public and Government Inquiries.
About the role: As a Principal Advisor, you will lead the delivery of strategies for communications, engagement, and media in order to set the inquiry up for success. Your abilities to engage high-level stakeholders, develop quality advice, and work in partnership with others in a small and effective establishment team will be key. Your high-quality and timely advice will aid decision-making and help enable the work of the Inquiry to be efficient, visible, and aligned.
About you: This role will suit a sharp-thinking and skilled Principal Advisor who knows how to work within a dynamic and developing environment. You will be responsible for the establishment of the communications and engagement strategies and frameworks for phase 2 of the Royal Commission. A demonstrated history of achievement in the development and delivery of high-quality strategic communications advice.
