Principal Adviser Stewardship Engagement

Details of the offer

Want to help lift living standards for all New Zealanders? That's the mission of Te Tai Ohanga - The Treasury, and this role helps us do just that.
If you're keen to help make a better tomorrow for all, then we have the role for you. Communications and Engagement work at the heart of the Treasury, supporting our leaders to deliver on this mission. We are seeking a fixed term Principal Advisor - Stewardship Engagement to join our team.
If you're looking for your next opportunity to make a real difference, where you can work at the heart of government as part of a small and agile team, then this is the chance to make a real difference in this critical role that will benefit the living standards for all our children and mokopuna in the decades ahead.
We're looking for an experienced and dynamic Principal Advisor Engagement Advisor to lead the Treasury's communications support for our Stewardship and Engagement work and set us up to maximise the public debate generated by the publication of three of our key Stewardship Reports in 2025.
The Principal Advisor Stewardship Engagement is a fixed term role until Friday 27 June 2025, and is about delivering an uplift in the Treasury's engagement activity and stewardship communications and embedding it for the future.
The purpose is twofold: creation of compelling content and delivery of engagement activity.
Firstly, it is to deliver a programme of engagement events for Treasury Executive in support of our economic stewardship role. In doing so, you will create the systems and processes to allow it to be carried on from within the existing team afterwards.
To succeed, you'll need established networks with business, public and third sector organisations, and a track record of delivering engagement events for senior leaders and Ministers.
Secondly, working with Treasury data and analytics colleagues as well as partner organisations, create compelling engagement tools to support our stewardship narrative being published in 2025.
To succeed here, you'll need established expertise in creating dynamic infographics and communications collateral that support our Stewardship narrative, and the ability to 'translate' long term economic challenges into the language and priorities of a range of sector audiences.
We're looking for an experienced communications professional, with a head for numbers as well as words, and who can build strong relationships with stakeholders quickly with their can-do attitude and solution-focused approach.
In this role, you will get to use your already extensive skill set to provide high-quality, relevant and timely communications and engagement support and delivery - helping coordinate a wide range of activity across a range of internal and stakeholder channels.
You'll be part of and contribute to a busy professional team that sits within the wider Strategy and Executive Services Directorate. This is a great opportunity to use your existing skills to great effect in a supportive and high-performing team and working with and supporting a wide range of teams across the Treasury.
