About UsTe Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 akonga (students) at any time. We provide personalised and authentic learning programmes through distance education from early childhood to NCEA Level 3, including for young adults and adults. Our vision is to enable our akonga to achieve their educational and personal goals, empowering them to become engaged and contributing members of their communities. Our learning programmes are flexible, responding to diverse akonga needs Ki te ti, ki te ta, ki te katoa – Anytime, anywhere, anyone.
Teaching at Te Aho o Te Kura PounamuKaiako at Te Kura engage with akonga online and face-to-face at huinga ako (advisories) and events, and work onsite with colleagues in regional offices. Te Kura provides flexible working arrangements, allowing Kaiako to request to work from home for up to two days per week.
About this positionWe are looking for a creative, innovative Primary Kaiako, an expert in teaching years 1-6, to join our team in Palmerston North. It is an exciting time at Te Kura as we innovate and transform distance learning. In our online environment, we work with the latest technologies and are constantly growing in this space. You'll interact with students at advisories, communicate using online tools, and guide a group of students as their Learning Advisor. We are committed to seeing you grow with us, offering development opportunities within the school.
