Pricing AnalystLocation: Wellington or New Plymouth
Type: Fixed-term for 18 months
The energy sector is in a period of change driven by technology and climate policy. We're looking for a Pricing Analyst to join Powerco's regulatory and pricing team (Customer Group) on a fixed term basis while we deliver several big transformation projects to support this period of change.
Reporting to the Pricing and Revenue Manager (for electricity), you will be in a unique position to help Powerco deliver on key transformation work as we transition to a DSO (distribution system operator) and transform the way we work with customers, which will involve changing how we approach pricing.
You Will Get To:Set prices for customers as they look to connect or change the way they use electricity.Collaborate across the business to deliver purpose-driven work in our transformation programmes.Implement new regulatory requirements as distribution pricing is reformed.Engage in a variety of tasks, working with different parts of the business, and getting exposed to many different aspects of the electricity industry.Access and analyse large databases, conduct regular reporting and create useful dashboards.Support Powerco's pricing and regulatory function that engages with customers and stakeholders via bespoke analysis, pricing and submission processes.Leverage your strong interpersonal skills to filter the complexity and communicate what's important to the customer or stakeholder.Flex your intellectual curiosity because you'll be looking at economic, financial and technical issues that affect the business both "now" and in the future.Minimum Requirements:A tertiary degree or equivalent in finance, economics, or a similar analytical subject.Proficiency with Excel and experience with Tableau is required.Experience in a commercial/analytical capacity involving financial modelling, following and documenting processes, and quantitative problem solving.Some knowledge of the NZ electricity and/or gas industry and the associated market and regulatory arrangements.The curiosity and persistence to own and resolve complex issues.Applications close: Sunday 22 December 2024
