About the Role The Prevent Engagement Officer has a high-profile responsibility for supporting and leading on engagement with communities and civil society groups across Haringey.
The purpose of this is to support Prevent activity and strengthen community cohesion to increase resilience to radicalisation.
About the Team The Safer Stronger Communities team is a busy and energetic team which includes various units such as ASB, Integrated Offender Management, Prevent, Hate Crime, Regulatory Services, and Waste Management.
The post holder will work within a small, collaborative structure within the Community Safety Team.
About You The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate: The ability to build strong relationships, encouraging co-operation and acting as the link between multiple contacts, both within and outside the Council.
Demonstrable experience in community engagement and comfort with giving presentations and delivering training and workshops.
Excellent communication skills – interacting effectively with a range of partners, both in writing and orally.
Good knowledge and awareness of the government's Prevent strategy, political awareness, and creative problem-solving skills.
