Vacancy for a pre-school assistant/key person to work in a small pre-school in Winchester, Hampshire.
QualificationsEssential: Minimum GCSE English and Maths Grade CMinimum Level 3 or equivalent in Childcare, Learning and DevelopmentLevel 2/3 or above in SafeguardingDesirable: Level 4 or Foundation DegreeFirst AidFood HygieneSkills and ExperienceAbility to work as part of a team and demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for improving outcomes for childrenProven experience of working with children who have English as an additional languageSound knowledge of the Early Year's Foundation Stage and readiness to implement the new EYFS from September 2012Ability to motivate self and others with an innovative and flexible approachJob DescriptionTo work as a key person under the direction of the Manager for a small group of children, some of whom may have English as a second language, and to care for and plan for their individual needs.
To collaborate with the team to provide a safe and secure environment for all children.
To support the team under the direction of the Manager in providing high-quality education and learning for all children.
Hours of Work: Initially Monday and Tuesday 8.30 - 4.15, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 8.30 - 1.00, with the possibility of increasing hours in the future.
