Pre-School Assistant/Key Person

Vacancy for a pre-school assistant/key person to work in a small pre-school in Winchester, Hampshire. Qualifications : Essential: Minimum GCSE English and Maths Grade C Minimum Level 3 or equivalent in Childcare, Learning and Development. Level 2/3 or above in Safeguarding. Desirable: Level 4 or Foundation Degree, First Aid, Food Hygiene. Skills and Experience: Ability to work as part of a team and to be enthusiastic and passionate about improving outcomes for children. Proven experience of working with children with English as an additional language. Sound knowledge of the Early Year's Foundation Stage and readiness to implement the new EYFS. Ability to motivate self and others with an innovative and flexible approach. Job Description: Work as a key person under the direction of the Manager for a small group of children, some of whom may have English as a second language, and care for their individual needs. Collaborate with the team to provide a safe and secure environment for all children. Support the team to deliver high-quality education and learning for all children. Hours of Work: Initially: Monday and Tuesday 8.30 - 4.15, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30 - 1.00, with the possibility of increasing in the future. Closing Date for Applications: 6th July 2012.
