Student Support Leader (previously Head of Guidance and Counselling) 2MU, 1MMA Permanent and Full time starting Term 1, 2025 Te Puna Wai o Waipapa – Hagley College is seeking a full-time permanent leader of our Guidance and Counselling Team which we will refer to as a Student Support Leader from 2025.
The leader will lead a team of three other counsellors of various permanent part time hours, 2-3 student counsellors, a mental health adviser and a social worker.
The team are also supported by an administrator.
It is a vibrant and busy place.

The pre-health programme is an NZQA approved qualification New Zealand Certificate in Study and Employment Pathway (Level 3).
Position Description The primary functions of this role are to: Provide education of the course curriculum and assessment of relevant health and wellbeing unit standards Level 3.
Facilitate and oversee the pre-health programme alongside Hagley College Science teaching staff.
Liaise with residential care facilities and undertake assessments of students in the workplace.
Your skills will include: Sound oral and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport with facility staff, Hagley College staff, students and other educators.
Sound organisational skills Registration with the appropriate professional body Certificate in adult teaching or other educational qualification (preferred) Workplace assessor unit standards (preferred) Proficient in Microsoft Suite of programmes Be supportive of Te Puna Wai o Waipapa – Hagley College and its values.
Sensitivity and awareness of issues of race, gender, age and ability NZ Drivers licence essential.
