About Us: Ngati Ruanui Tahua Limited is a whanauora service provider in South Taranaki, offering a kaupapa Maori holistic approach to all people in our community.
Our Healthcare, GP Practice, operates from two sites, Hawera and Patea.
Our other operations encompass kohanga reo, early childcare education, w'anauora and social services along with our other outreach clinical roles.
We are currently seeking an experienced Practice Nurse (full or part-time) to join our established Nursing Team, reporting to the Nursing Manager.
This role will be based at our Healthcare premise in Hawera and will also work across our Healthcare Centre in Patea.
The Practice Nurse, under general direction, will develop, implement, evaluate, and manage the care and education of patients, supervise day-to-day activities of patient care and carry out assessments of patients.
Key responsibilities of this role include: Developing, implementing, evaluating and managing the care and education of patients, and carrying out relevant assessments.
Performing patient examinations, minor surgical procedures, evaluating results and monitoring treatment plans.
Providing information and advocacy for people and whanau with the implementation of care plans and the promotion of health and wellbeing activities.
Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with people at all levels of the healthcare industry, including the wider GP Practice team, community, secondary care providers, external agencies, and NGOs.
Understanding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and being respectful of individual and whanau personal beliefs, values, and goals.
Minimum requirements of the role: Registered Nurse with a minimum of three years related clinical nursing experience.
Knowledge of medical procedures, terminology, and equipment.
Smear taking and vaccination experience would be an advantage.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Patient assessment skills along with the ability to apply solid clinical judgement.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to plan work, establish priorities and remain flexible.
Keen willingness to learn and upskill where required.
