Vercoe Brown & Associates is looking for a Practice Nurse to join their well-established practice based in South Invercargill. Vercoe Brown & Associates are a small to medium sized Practice with a passionate team who are committed to the health and well-being of the local community and maintain skills and knowledge to provide their patients with the best possible care available.Tasks & ResponsibilitiesTo provide our patients, including families/whanau, with nursing care that is patient-centered. Based on comprehensive nursing assessment; this ensures continuity, is culturally sensitive, and evidence-based to optimise quality of life.Supporting our doctors and nurse practitioner (NP) with immunisations, care plans and common health assessments. Assisting our doctors and NP with small procedures, wound care and chronic disease management plans.Updating patient files, records and overseeing inventory and ordering supplies.Be prepared to work toward gaining Immunisation Certification and any other qualifications relating to Practice Nursing.Qualifications & ExperienceMust:Be a Registered Nurse with Nursing Council of NZ and hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate.Ideally:Hold a current CPR Certificate.Hold a current Vaccinator Certificate andHave at least 12 months experience in working as a Practice Nurse.SkillsKnowledge of current government policies, codes, guidelines and legislation relating to nursing and health.The ability to work independently and be a member of a team.Experience in problem solving, priority setting, and planning.Legal and Professional AccountabilityHolds personal nursing indemnity insurance.Approachable and organised.Integrity and trust.Great Communication Skills.Initiative.Negotiation and conflict resolution.Cultural awareness and its application to nursing practice.Focus on Equity: Equity is the quality of being fair, just and impartial.
