As part of MSD's Organisational Assurance and Communications Group, they offer support and advice across Information Management, Security and Privacy domains. What you'll be doing | He aha tau e mahi ana As the Practice Lead, Capability, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the Group's technical practices in Information Security. You will lead the development of methodologies, mentor advisors, and ensure a high level of skill mastery and consistency across the team. You will thrive in a collaborative environment and possess a keen understanding of emerging technologies and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Stay ahead of the curve by maintaining high-level knowledge in emerging technologies and trends. Implement frameworks that enhance the Group's technical capabilities in Information Security. Provide thought leadership and coaching to practitioners, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. Guide individuals in their professional growth and ensure a high-performing team environment. Build strong relationships across the Group and with external partners. Share knowledge and best practices to enhance the Group's overall technical proficiency. Offer timely, professional advice on risks and issues related to the Ministry's information use. Keep leadership informed of critical matters and develop strategies to manage them effectively. What you'll need to succeed | Ko nga mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitu To be successful in this role, you will bring: A deep understanding of risk management frameworks and the workings of government processes. Significant experience in providing in-depth expertise and thought leadership on risk management and assurance plans, frameworks and practices. Ability to provide practical, innovative, and solution-focused risk and assurance advice that adds significant value to stakeholders at all levels. Extensive technical knowledge on assurance practice that enables you to establish and deliver a sound and sustainable information assurance and reporting programme. Strong support and guidance skills to maintain the Group's operations. Collaboration and constructive working skills with other team members and the wider business as well as external partners. A proven track record in leading and coaching teams, with excellent communication skills to convey complex concepts in an accessible manner. A broad view of risk and the interrelatedness of risk and assurance, both operationally and strategically A relevant tertiary qualification or substantial professional experience in Information Technology, Security, Management, or Privacy. Ideally you also have (not essential): Experience in working in the Agile environment. Good understanding of current and emerging technologies, especially those relevant to data protection and privacy such as AI and machine learning, cloud security, Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs).
