Registered Nurse - Pregnancy & Parental Service About CADS: Community Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS) is looking for a full-time or part-time registered nurse to work in our Pregnancy and Parental Service (PPS) based in Point Chevalier, Tamaki Makaurau / Auckland. CADS is the largest Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) service in Aotearoa / New Zealand and provides free community and inpatient treatment from a number of locations across Tamaki Makaurau.
CADS is committed to empowering the community to reduce the harm associated with substance use and to promote recovery and well-being.
About PPS: PPS is a well-supported multi-disciplinary regional team that works with pregnant women and parents of children under three years of age who are experiencing problematic alcohol and/or other drug use, are disconnected from health and social services, and may be experiencing multiple and complex problems including family violence, physical and mental health issues, stigma, inadequate housing, and socio-economic issues.
The aim of PPS is to improve outcomes for unborn and young children via interventions that reduce harm and positively impact the young children's first 1000 days of brain development, and enhance their future health-related trajectories.
Our team is resourced to provide assertive outreach and spend time developing therapeutic relationships with tangata whai I te ora and their whanau to provide evidence-based interventions which strengthen the family environment with client-led, strength-based goal planning.
About the role: This is a case management/key working role, which includes, but is not limited to; assertive outreach, advocacy, service coordination and collaboration, risk assessment, safety planning, and working within harm reduction, strength-based and recovery models as well as utilising a motivational approach to support tangata whaiora to make significant changes in their lives.
You would be working in a well-supported team where you will develop unique expertise and skills to best support tangata whaiora experiencing the above issues.
About you: We are looking for a registered nurse with a commitment to equity and working with tangata whaiora from a biopsychosocial approach.
You will have excellent engagement and communication skills as well as an ability to work autonomously and within a team. You will also have:
